Ensconced in the soft glow of the centuries-old Tithe Barn, say your vows at enchanting Meols Hall and create memories to last a lifetime…
For a quintessentially English countryside wedding, Meols Hall in Churchtown, Southport offers intimate venue spaces, an expert planning team and a stately and historic backdrop. Built in the 12th century during the early reign of King John, Meols is the oldest manor house in Southport. It has stayed in the same family since its beginning with 27 generations lovingly caring for the house and building it into what we see today. Nestled in the tranquil setting of 100 acres of wooded parkland, yet very close to the charming village of Churchtown, Meols offers multiple unique spaces in which to celebrate your fairytale wedding.
Step out of the cold and into a beautifully renovated 400-year-old Tithe Barn, softly lit by candlelight and echoing with the sounds of clinking champagne glasses and piano sonatas. The tranquil, rustic space with original brick walls and an open beamed ceiling is filled to your liking with lush blooms, intricately laid tables and personalised touches to transform even the harshest winter into a dreamy escape. Restored by local craftsmen using traditional methods, the Tithe Barn can be used as a ceremony location or reception space, completely sheltered from the noise of the outside world to ensure that you and your guests have a private and peaceful event. It is also fully equipped with a modern kitchen, bar facilities, superb lighting and sound system.
After the ceremony, spill out into the adjoining picturesque cobbled courtyard for photos, mingling at the patio tables while enjoying the glow of the outdoor lanterns. The party can then head inside through the large French doors of the original Coach House, where they will sample cocktails and a selection of delicious canapés made fresh in the kitchen at Meols.
Every season brings new aesthetic joys to the visitors of Meols Hall. Within the vast estate, witness the delicate bluebells that blanket the lawn in springtime, bask in the richness of gold and crimson leaves in autumn and pause for a moment to reflect as the softly falling snow coats the ground in winter. Behind the main house, stretching as far as the eye can see, endless greenery and woodland reaches towards the blue sky.
Up to 120 guests can be catered for a ceremony/wedding reception with facilities for a maximum of 150 total guests in the evening. In addition to catering, Meols is able to provide a complete package with bar service, Master of Ceremonies and entertainment. They have a highly trained, wonderfully kind team to ensure that your event exceeds your expectations. www.meolshall.co.uk
