Start the New Year as a married couple and celebrate in style!

Last month we suggested you consider a wedding at Christmas time, especially at Blame Her Ranch, which is always decorated to the nines. But, as another option, how about New Year’s Eve? Here are ten reasons why New Year’s weddings are a fabulous idea.  True, most couples dream of a sunny summer wedding, but lately it seems like more couples have been ditching the traditional and seeking something with a bit of flair.

From flowing champagne to black and white decor, here are the ten reasons why New Year’s Eve is the perfect wedding date:

1 EVERYONE LIKES A PARY

Everybody wants something fun to do on New Year’s Eve, but overpriced restaurants and packed bars have clearly lost their appeal. Your guests would be overly excited about something unique and special to do on New Year’s Eve.

2 CELEBRATE INTO THE WEE HOURS

Most wedding venues want weddings wrapped up before midnight, but not Blame Her Ranch, the venue let’s you party well past midnight. So your wedding would start a little later, but the fun can continue into the night and even offer an early morning breakfast of waffles and fruit for the guests.

3 FLOWING BUBBLY

Champagne or sparkling wine screams New Year’s Eve, but it can also give your wedding a sophisticated touch, where Champagne becomes the centerpiece of activities well beyond the traditional toast.

4 NO NEED FOR A THEME

In today’s world, it seems as though every wedding has to have a theme. But with New Year’s Eve, the theme is built-in. And, can be used for everything in terms of decor, table cloths, chandeliers, dress-code and glassware.

5 SPARKLE AND SHINE

New Year’s Eve is the ultimate occasion where you want to show off a bit and have fun. Dazzling attire and other accents that shine and sparkle are a must for New Year’s Eve.

6 PUTTING ON THE RITZ

New Year’s Eve is without question a glamorous night. So, make it a black-tie affair as it is the one time of the year people do not mind getting dressed up in style. There is nothing better than 150 guests dressed in formal attire from top to bottom. The pictures will be unbelievable.

7 NO SET SCHEDULES

Most weddings have a traditional flow of events. But, New Year’s allows you to mix it up a little. Said another way, the dress will be formal, but the activities can be informal! We love the idea of actually starting the wedding festivities with cocktails, champagne, and dancing for all the guests while the couple and wedding party are hidden from site. This builds up expectations and a bigger surprise later in the evening.

8  RESOLUTIONS FOR FUN

Resolutions to start off the year should be part of any New  Year’s Eve wedding. These resolutions can be put into a large jar or in the guest book, but turn it into something fun and interactive by having your guests write their resolution on a chalkboard and to share their thinking after dinner. You can also

9 COUNTDOWN CRESCENDO

New Year’s Eve wedding. Simple party horns and top hats are an easy addition, but try to get them personalised so no one forgets your New Year’s Eve wedding.

10 AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER

New Year’s Day is the start or restart of one’s life. It is a  chance to start anew (and in the couple’s case, together) from this point forward. But there is an extra bonus.  You will never forget your anniversary and your guests won’t either!
