Sarah and Ty celebrated their love surrounded by wintry mountain scenes…
My husband and I had always dreamt of going to Lake Louise! Neither of us had been before and after doing a little research and seeing other wedding photos there, we were sold! The view was the most important to us! We didn’t want to travel all the way to Canada and get married inside so we really wanted our ceremony to be outside. The ballroom in the hotel was beautiful, as well, with floor to ceiling windows and views of the mountains outside so it was an easy decision to have the reception in there. I didn’t want our decorations to take away at all from our beautiful surrounding. I really just wanted to build on the décor that was God’s natural masterpiece, for everything to be classic and timeless and simple.
I got my dress from Neiman Marcus in downtown Dallas, Texas. We had a four month long engagement so I didn’t have a lot of options to choose from with our short timeframe. Luckily, it was one of the first dresses I tried on, and I fell in love with it. Lace, strapless, classic, and simple was what I was going for. I wanted my hair and beauty to be an elevated version of the everyday me, so I chose to go pretty simple on my hair and makeup. Because we were getting married outside and in the mountains, I wanted everything to be pretty natural so I wore my hair down with soft curls.
One challenge we faced when planning, was that we didn’t get a chance to visit the venue until the Thursday before our wedding. Not being familiar with the area and the vendors made things a bit of a challenge and I really had to put all of my trust in our wedding planner, who did a fantastic job. I definitely encourage couples who are getting married to, hire a wedding planner, book a videographer and splurge on photography; you won’t be sorry!
